India vs New Zealand, 1st Test, Day 1, Live Cricket
Team India managed to win the ODI series 3-1 after losing T20 series to Kiwis but all the matches they won so far are on flat tracks where batsman performed exceptionally well. They lost the final ODI on a bouncy track and the pitch that will be used for test today will be no different. There is need for India to prove to the rest of the world that they are not only masters on flat tracks but can also perform on bouncy pitches during this 3 match test series and with experience and depth in batting I think they should be able to do it.

It’s been a gripping 3rd day. We’ve had hundreds from Gayle and Sarwan; reviews, referrals and controversy with technology. Stuart Broad fought back with three very impressive wickets, and Panesar gradually improved too. Still, it is West Indies who have the lead – albeit only a slender 34, with three wickets in the bag.

Useful contributions from tailenders helped England to cross 300 mark and West Indies has done a good job making sure they don’t lose too many wickets. Both Sarwan and Gayle are in 70’s and look set for big scores, they just need to make sure they don’t throw away wicket like Flintoff yesterday and rest of the batting line up should help WI to gain lead in 1st innings.Flintoff and KP will be on cloud 9 after earning a price tag of 1.55 million and I guess they will be dreaming about the money all day long today.

Finally Ponting was forced to take rest after team’s poor performance over last couple of months and Clarke will lead the side for the rest of the series. Also CJ Ferguson will make his debut today and Australia will be hoping to win this match (Change in Luck) with a change in captaincy and team combination.
New Zealand really did not perform that well in their previous match which they should have won without taking it to last over. So definitely there is scope of improvement as far as batting is concerned.

Indian coach Gary Kirsten remarks about how current India team can win matches even after resting few key players could have hurt Sri Lankan players ego and today is a great chance to prove Kirsten wrong. India lead the series 3-0 (Not to mention they already won it) decided to rest both Sachin and Zaheer, to give opportunity to other players on the bench and why not, when things are going good every move you make will look like a gr8 move.
