I don’t think England has got any chance to win this match and level the series unless there is some extraordinary show from Englishmen. Assuming even if England plays well, it will take minimum of 5 sessions to get some lead and in worst scenario India can bat out 2 sessions easily which leaves England with 2 sessions to win the game and that’s too much to ask from England I think looking at current form of both the teams in recent times.
India are well placed to press home their advantage in the morning, the pitch is starting to spin while Zaheer Khan will search for reverse swing. It will be a major test for England’s batsmen because they need to play positively to try and match India’s total.
West Indies vs New Zealand, 2nd Test, Day 2, Live Cricket Links
New Zealand on top at end of Day 1 but one need to appreciate Chanderpaul’s effort to lead recovery for West Indies after losing quick wickets and with Chanderpaul still at crease West Indies should be looking to extend the score to 350 to have a fair chance to go for a win.

After winning toss and decide to bat, New Zealand did not get the start they would have wanted but Flynn did a great job with McIntosh and Ryder to help New Zealand reach 226 at the end of shortened day. Match will start half an hour early to compensate the lost time.
New Zealand should target 400 with Ryder and McCullum at crease and 6 wickets in hand and West Indies need some quick wickets in 1st session to restrict New Zealand to a reasonable total which can be defended.

ICC Test rankings clearly tell the story of both West Indies and New Zealand in test cricket with ranks 7 and 8 respectively. If New Zealand win the series, then both teams will swap their positions but still will be behind many other test cricketing nations.
West Indies hasn’t played test cricket for a while and I think understanding the conditions and planning for the five day game will be challenging.
