Yesterday India Spilled few catches and it costs them too much. Lets see today how good is their feilding. This pitch is very good batting pitch and we can expect India will score more runs. Today India should take all wickets of NewZealand before 450. Dont forget Ryder is still there in the crease and Mucullum still to come.

New Zealand: Tim McIntosh , Martin Guptill , Jamie How , Ross Taylor , Jesse Ryder , Brendon McCullum (w) , James Franklin , Daniel Vettori (c) , Iain O’Brien , Jeetan Patel , Chris Martin , Kyle Mills (sub) , Daniel Flynn (sub)

India vs New Zealand 2nd Test Highlights Day 1

Watch cricket highlights – India vs New Zealand day 1 highlights from the 2nd Napier Test.

Scoreline: NZ 351/4 – Ross Taylor 151 (204), Jesse Ryder 137 no (220)

The Indians messed up in the field but the Bangalore boys (had to ring that in) were good enough to notch up big hundreds, after coming together with NZ 23/3. In fact, even with the let-offs and numerous close calls, when they played, they played beautifully – Ross Taylor in particular. Ryder hung back a bit but importantly is not out. Ishanth Sharma and Zaheer Khan were super in the morning but as the day progressed, with the fielding lapses and the batting quality, the bowlers sort of got jaded before some late excitement towards end of play.

Team-wise – Dhoni was out for India with a bad back, while Jeetan Patel came in for Kyle Mills

India vs New Zealand, Day 1, 2nd Test, Live Cricket

India outplayed New Zealand in 1st test and they not only lead the series 1-0 but also have opportunity to win test series for the 1st time in New Zealand. Indian team is very much aware of the importance of winning the series to take Indian cricket to a newer heights and Dhoni already mentioned they will put their best effort to win the series with this game. Most of the Indian start batsman are performing well through out the series and that’s a big headache for kiwi bowlers. Also they have some problems in batting department and Vettori hopes they can put a good show.

The Teams

New Zealand: Tim McIntosh , Martin Guptill , Jamie How , Ross Taylor , Jesse Ryder , Brendon McCullum (w) , James Franklin , Daniel Vettori (c) , Iain O’Brien , Jeetan Patel , Chris Martin , Kyle Mills (sub) , Daniel Flynn (sub)

India: Virender Sehwag (c) , Gautam Gambhir , Rahul Dravid , Sachin Tendulkar , VVS Laxman , Yuvraj Singh , Dinesh Karthik (w) , Harbhajan Singh , Zaheer Khan , Ishant Sharma , Munaf Patel , Laxmipathy Balaji (sub) , Dhawal Kulkarni (sub) , Amit Mishra (sub) , Murali Vijay (sub)

India vs New Zealand Day 4 Highlights 1st Test

March 21st, 2009 Comments Off Posted in India, Match Highlights, New Zealand, Test Match

Watch cricket highlights – India vs New Zealand Day 4 Highlights of the 1st Hamilton Test played on March 21, 2009.

Scoreline: NZ 279 all out – Brendon McCullum 84. India 39/0 in 5.2 overs win the 1st Test.

With Harbhajan Singh hauling 6 the NZ innings did look like it would head towards an innings win for India. A fine knock by McCullum however forced India out to bat again. Dhoni however made some strange decisions with NZ 8 down – the field was spread for Brendon who refused singles and easily found them off the last couple of balls of the over. In fact it took 11 overs before Ian O’Brien got to face the first ball of an over. With McCullum if he wants to hit a boundary mroe often than not he will. What’s the point in trying to save the runs or offer him a single which he repeatedly shows disinterest in. Anyway a good win for India considering its taken something like 33 years for them to win a test in New Zealand.

Sachin Tendulkar Interview

India vs New Zealand 1st Test Day 3 Highlights

March 20th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in India, Match Highlights, New Zealand, Test Match

Watch cricket highlights – India vs New Zealand – 1st Test Day 3 highlights from the 1st Hamilton Test played on March 20, 2009.

Scoreline: India 520 all out – Sachin Tendulkar 42nd hundred (160), Zaheer Khan 51, MS Dhoni 47. NZ 75/3 – Guptill 48

Super batting by Tendulkar this morning. Another crucial hundred to go with his century in the Chennai Test vs England. The highlights features Martin Crowe gushing all over him – might sound a bit too much for those who’ve watched Tendulkar over the last 20 years, but what the heck – it’s Sachin. More is always less in his case.

Dravid (in a post-match interview yesterday) pointed out that drives weren’t working on this pitch – so you can see Tendulkar going for the checked-shots through the innings while driving. Zaheer Khan laid waste to the NZ bowling and fielding that had threatened to wrap things up after the fall of Sachin. His more-than-a-run-a-ball fifty stretched the lead to 241.

Martin Guptill was looking cool but got out towards end of play. There was a moment of controversy involving a catch taken by Tendulkar. Replays gave off a view that it might have been grounded – I’ve seen this show where Nasser Hussain takes low catches on his haunches – all the camera angles indicate several of them being grounded, while he claimed he had his fingers under the ball. So until they can get cameras level with the ground, these sort of catches will always throw up controversies.

India vs New Zealand 1st Test Day 2 Highlights

March 20th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in India, Match Highlights, New Zealand, Test Match

Watch cricket highlights – India vs New Zealand, Day 2 highlights, 1st test played at Hamilton on March 19, 2009.

Scoreline: India 278/4. Sachin Tendulkar 70 no, Gautham Gambhir 72, Rahul Dravid 66

A slow day for India when looking at the day’s play over by over, but a calculated performance on the whole. And enough from Tendulkar in the final hour of play to suggest a more aggressive morning session tomorrow in the company of Yuvraj.

Over the last year and a half, the one shot that’s worked for Dravid has been his leaning-forward cover-drive. At times the Australian field-settings had thwarted even that leading to his drop in run-scoring. Today, he hardly got an opportunity to play the shot because of the shortish length bowled – a good half century in decent time coming in the wake of his 136 in his last test vs England

Gambhir got back into run-scoring mode but once again missed out in the 70s. Tendulkar after a brief survey of conditions looked to be keen to play some attacking cricket – this was quickly nipped following a tough dropped catch and he and Laxman slipped into build-a-total mode. The final hour of play however saw Sachin pull out some stunning shots and I definitely will be waking at 3 in the morning to watch the morning session tomorrow.

India vs New Zealand 1st Test Highlights Day 1

March 20th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in India, Match Highlights, New Zealand

Watch cricket highlights of 1st test – India vs New Zealand – Day 1’s play from Hamilton, played on March 18, 2009.

Scoreline: New Zealand 279 all out – Daniel Vettori 118, Jesse Ryder 102. Ishanth Sharma 4 wickets. Munaf Patel 3 wickets.
India 29/0

Two sessions to either side. Vettori strangely took charge of the run-scoring while Ryder displayed yet another aspect to his ever-increasing girth reputation. The Indian field settings were set more to Ryder’s recent ODI blitzkrieg than the existing situation. But a super knock by the both batsmen. Ryder eventually pulled out his innate game when on 99 with an unconvincing Chris Martin at the other end – he clouted Ishanth Sharma for a six to get to his debut hundred.

Sehwag hammered out 5 boundaries during the short Indian outing and that was that on Day 1.

India vs New Zealand, 1st Test, Day 1, Live Cricket

March 18th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in India, Live Cricket Streaming, Live Matches, New Zealand, Test Match

Team India managed to win the ODI series 3-1 after losing T20 series to Kiwis but all the matches they won so far are on flat tracks where batsman performed exceptionally well. They lost the final ODI on a bouncy track and the pitch that will be used for test today will be no different. There is need for India to prove to the rest of the world that they are not only masters on flat tracks but can also perform on bouncy pitches during this 3 match test series and with experience and depth in batting I think they should be able to do it.

India Won the Toss and elected to bowl first.

India vs New Zealand 5th ODI Highlights

March 15th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in India, Match Highlights, New Zealand, One Day Match

Watch cricket highlights – India vs New Zealand – 5th ODI, Auckland played on March 14, 2009.

Scoreline: India 149 all out (36.3 overs – rain curtailed 43 over game). Virender Sehwag 40 (27), Rohit Sharma 43 (74). NZ 151/2 in 23.2 overs – Jesse Ryder 63 (49), Martin Guptill 57 (50)

Session 1: The first seriously seamer-friendly track and everyone other than Sehwag (of course-cos he’s the one cricketer in the world for whom conditions are irrelevant) just couldn’t adjust to it or at least try and curtail their bludgeoning game. Unfortunately (personally speaking), Rohit Sharma had a bad game despite being the top-scorer. The timing and confidence was just not there and he ate up big chunks of the strike (esp with Yuvraj at the other end). O’Briend swung the ball like mad early on, then lost control, bowled a few wides and finally came up against Sehwag who took him apart. Ryder (9-29-3) and Oram (9-22-2) pretty much knocked the wind out of the Indian middle order once Sehwag was gone and one feels it will be some time before we get to see Rohit Sharma back in the ODI side. unfortunate, cos he seemed like the best contender for Laxman’s Test slot whenever VVS chooses to retire. Am really curious to see Praveen Kumar in these conditions and even as i write this he’s got McCullum. New Zealand should however win this, unless they mess it up.

Session 2: Jesse Ryder clouts Ishanth Sharma all around. The two get into a heated non-physical brawl. Ishanth sees Yuvraj put Jesse down. The two weirdly kiss and make up. Ishanth gets Ryder to inside-edge one but doesn’t celebrate at all.

NZ came out blazing. Pretty much what India tried to do as wickets fell. Only, New Zealand managed to pull it off. Guptill carried on after Ryder’s exit, displaying his fantastic timing that has been on show right through this year. Ross Taylor too found enough runs remaining on the target to pull out his legside stuff. A tough day for India but I doubt they’ll be too worried about a seamer-friendly track popping up in the Test series considering Tendulkar, Laxman and Dravid will be in that side.
