ICL world series called off due to Mumbai Blast
"We have decided to cancel the World Series in the best interests of all involved, particularly the teams," Kiran More, an executive board member of the ICL, told Cricinfo. "The executive board decided that it was not appropriate to continue. We were ready with the extra security but felt the atmosphere, in the wake of the Mumbai events, was just not right to go ahead with the matches."
More stressed that all players and officials had been given adequate security while the chairman of the ICL’s executive board, Kapil Dev, said: "The teams have shown confidence in the ICL management and have supported the decision to call off the tour."
The ICL had on Thursday morning decided to call off the evening’s match between Pakistan and Bangladesh teams in Ahmedabad. The world series, involving India XI, Pakistan XI, Bangladesh XI and World XI, was scheduled to end on Saturday.

ICL World Series, 2008, ICL India vs ICL Pakistan, 2nd Match, Highlights
Well it was indeed a close game. India won the toss and elected to field. They got off to a good start by removing the danger man Nazir early but Rana Naved made the most of his rich form. However, Pakistan lost wickets regularly and this was despite the fact that India dropped a lot of catches. 165 was never going to be too tough an ask and the Rayudu-Khaleel partnership made things easier. But there was twist in the tale again as India lost a few wickets but Badani sealed the match with some fantastic strokeplay.
Ambati Rayudu is the Man of the Match for his outstanding innings that set the platform for the run chase. India lost wickets regularly but Rayudu held fort and ensured that they do not falter.

ICL Pakistan team is as good (or even better) as Pakistan national team at the moment and with players like Razzaq, Mahmood, Naveeed and Haq I don’t think ICL India has any chance to win this game but will be a good test for India.

ICL Hyderabad Heroes beat Lahore Badshahs 2nd Finals Highlights
Nov 15, 2008, Sat (ICL IInd Final) Hyderabad Heroes beat Lahore Badshahs in a nail biting day-night match on Saturday at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad and won the second finals out of the three finals that are scheduled to be played between the two teams.
Winning the second final and equaling the score, Heroes have kept the competition in the ICL alive. The two teams will again battle out to win the ICL Season 2 trophy in the third and final one day match on Sunday.
The Badshahs suffered a big blow in the second over after the team lost Imran Nazir (6) and Naved-ul-Hasan (0).
At the end of seven overs, Badshahs had scored 52 runs at the loss of three wickets and the team was in visible distress after loosing three wickets on a meager score.
Shahid Yousuf showed a ray of hope to the Badshahs after he scored blazing 51 of just 27 balls, but there was no other batsman to support Yousuf for making those valuable runs.
Badshahs were all out in 19.1 overs at a score of 150 runs. They lost to the Heroes in the second finals, making way for the third and last final to be played.
The opening pair of Heroes played a responsible innings and after hitting great knocks all over the ground, scored 78 runs in eight overs.
Losing their firebrand opener James Maher on a score of 56, the Heroes suffered their first setback in the eight over.
The Heroes kept losing wickets at frequent intervals thereafter. None of the batsmen following the opening pair could stay on the crease for long time.
Thus Heroes could make only 158 runs in 20 overs at the loss of seven wickets, at the rate of 7.9 runs per over.
James Maher was given man of the match for his 56 of 31 balls.
