Gayle: "We have to put this behind us. We’ve stressed on putting runs on the board. We may have to change things a bit. It was a decent wicket and England utilised it better. Edgbaston is a final for us. There’s no two ways about it."
Strauss: "We put them under pressure right from ball one. We’d like to finish off the series. Broad and Anderson are chatting a lot together. In ODIs taking the pace off the ball is important. I’m happy with the balance with the side. Things are going really nicely here."
Colly is the Man of the Match: "I was trying to leep it as straight as possible and it nipped around a bit. We had the better of the conditions today. People are enjoying the cricket."

After Day 2 was rained out, a much better day of cricket with some nice KP shots and more grinding of WI by the England middle order. But the highlight of the day was Fidel Edwards sendoff for Anderson after several frustrating moments earlier. Must watch stuff.

Watch Live 1st Test: England v West Indies at Lord’s, May 6-10, 2009 Day 2
At the start of the day when England tip-toed to 88 for 1 at lunch on a very slow pitch. But Fidel’s three wickets really fired things up, before Bopara played an absolute blinder with his second hundred and his first at No.3. England will be over the moon with him. But England should not be so happily placed: West Indies dropped catch after dolly after chance, and their fielding was occasionally a shambles, so England can count themselves very lucky that they weren’t skittled for 200. Bopara, of course, remains not out and his is the vital wicket tomorrow morning.
