1st ODI: Bangladesh v Zimbabwe at Dhaka (SBNS), Jan 19 2009, Cricket Live Links

January 19th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Bangladesh, Live Matches, One Day Match, Zimbabwe

Bangladesh team must be happy with their performance in 2009, they not only registered their 1st win in 2009 few days back but also they shown improvement compared to their record in 2008. Both Zimbabwe and Bangladesh are equally good and we can expect some good contests during this tour of Zimbabwe to Bangladesh.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Day 3, Cricket Live Links

January 5th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Live Matches, Test Match

Murali & Mendis combination worked again for Sri Lanka like they did against many teams in recent past to leave the opposition in all sorts of trouble. Lower order batsman Rahim and Mortaza helped Bangladesh to avoid follow on but they are already trailing by 180+ runs at Stumps Day 2. Even if Sri Lanka bat entire day, they will have a lead around 450 easily and should be in a comfortable position to declare tomorrow 1st session.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Day 2, Cricket Live Links

January 4th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Live Matches, Test Match

Sri Lanka dominated two sessions yesterday and the central figure was Dilshan who scored 162. He counter-attacked on what looked like a difficult surface to bat on and the ease at which he scored rubbed off on Kapugedera who remained unbeaten on 93. Warnapura’s presence at the other end also helped Dilshan. Today they must clear the tails and must bat sensibly to win this test.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Day 1, Cricket Live Links

January 3rd, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Live Matches, Test Match

Bangladesh exceeded my expectations in last match and played beautifully on day 4 and day 5. They may have lost the match in the end but I’m sure many Bangladesh cricket fans will be happy with their team performance and expect them to play the same going forward.

Mendis will be back and would be interesting to see who gets more wickets between Murali and Mendis.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, 1st Test, Day 4, Cricket Live Links

December 30th, 2008 Comments Off Posted in Live Matches, Test Match
Nothing much left in this match and result is evident. Sri Lanka already got 400+ lead and still got 6 wickets in hand. Ideally they can declare and ask Bangladesh to bat and expect Murali, Vaas and Co. to clean it up by end of day but I guess Jayawardene will bat out 1st session and improve lead as much as they can before they declare.

I doubt if Bangladesh will be able to survive till tomorrow.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, 1st Test, Day 3, Cricket Live Links

December 28th, 2008 Comments Off Posted in Live Matches, Test Match

First of all excellent partnership between Vaas and Samaraweera to push score beyond 250 doing what exactly SL needed in the morning. Later it’s all Murali show picking another fifer and so far he managed to pick 81 wickets against Bangladesh in just 10 matches.

So once again we have been witness to the Bangladesh batsmen, squandering the starts. There have been partnerships but nothing to trouble Sri Lanka in the longer run. Imrul, Ashraful were particularly guity of throwing their wickets away. Muralitharan got his 66th five wicket haul. Sri Lanka, would look to bowl out Bangladesh the first thing in the morning and would look to build a sizeable lead to put the match out of the reach for Bangladesh.

One can see where are we heading clearly now, Sri Lanka win for sure and probably on 4th day itself.

RBS Cup, India vs England, 2nd Test, Day 5, Cricket Live Links

December 23rd, 2008 Comments Off Posted in Live Matches, RBS Cup, Test Match

It’s kind of odd that India chose the easy option of draw rather than a win as soon as Sehwag got out. Well friends, they made it interesting to watch by giving couple of wickets and giving a sniff to England team but thanks to Yuvi now India is ahead with a safe lead. There is no way England can win this but if they want, they can still lose it.

West Indies vs New Zealand, 2nd Test, Day 1, Live Cricket Streaming Links

December 19th, 2008 Comments Off Posted in Live Matches, Test Match

Weather forecast for Napier is not great but good enough to have full day play according to weather reports. West Indies confidence must be high after managing draw in 1st test to move to 7th position in ICC Test Rankings and would be willing to retain the rank either by win or draw in 2nd test.

India vs England, 1st Test, Day 5, Cricket Live

December 15th, 2008 Comments Off Posted in Live Matches, Test Match

Twin centuries from Strauss and century from collingwood did not put England in commanding position as many would have thought. Even though England got a great lead to defend and just when many pundits ruled out India chances of winning this game , Sehwag put them right back into the game and now both teams has got fair chance to win the game on Day 5. We got 90 overs and England need 9 wickets for a win while India need 256 runs and I don’t think draw is possible even if India score at runrate of 3.
