Australia vs South Africa 5th Day Highlights SCG 3rd Test Cricket
Cricket Highlights: SA vs Australia 3rd Sydney Test Day 5. Makhaya Ntini, Dale Steyn, Graeme Smith and Paul Harris dramatically drag the test match into the 2nd last over of the day. When Mitchell Johnson bowled Smith, SA were short of a stunning draw by 5 minutes/ 10 balls.
A win today was never really on, so though AB de Villiers got a half century, his wicket just before tea saw Harris and Steyn having to guts it out for a while with the lightning-weather looming around the SCG giving them hope. Ntini then came out and did a Courtney Walsh (with Brian Lara years ago). Only Ntini did it longer and better.
Watching Makhaya and Steyn was breathtaking – Steyn continued to play his shots while Ntini played like he knew his three stumps better than any top batsman: every ball on the stumps hit the middle of the bat and every ball outside offstump was played and missed perfectly.
Graeme Smith who was sitting in the balcony changed into his test match clothes when it came down to 20 odd overs left. When Steyn was finally out, the SCG gave Smith a standing ovation as he walked out despite his broken finger/part of the hand just above the little finger. That’s his left hand. The right elbow was also damaged and though he deserves all the credit he has been getting, he probably had no choice anyhow, considering the Steyn-Ntini stand.
Mitchell Johnson who broke Smith’s hand bowled his first 4 balls to Smith on a leavable line and got booed in the process. But he eventually got him with 10 deliveries left in the day with a super ball and what could have been a sensational draw ended in a loss for SA much like it did a year back for India at the same ground – though this was a deserved win for Australia unlike a year back where it was handed to them by Bucknor and Benson
Boucher got a poor decision that probably didn’t matter in the end. On the Aussie front, Matthew Hayden was probably the happiest with the win, not because it might give him another shot at test cricket but because he dropped Ntini a few overs before the game eventually ended.

Australia vs South Africa, 3rd Test Day 5, Watch Live Cricket
For many it may seem both teams has got fair chance but I don’t think S.A can win this game and the best result S.A can achieve with this game will be a draw. Scoring at more than 3 runs per over and chasing 300+ on final day will be difficult. But looking at the Australia bowling, they might even let S.A win this one as well and have their 1st whitewash at home in last 100 years.
Overall an exciting and interesting test series ends today with South Africa winning the series and Both Australia and South Africa are scheduled to play 2 T20’s followed by a 5 match ODI series over next 20 days.

Australia vs South Africa 3rd Test Cricket Highlights Day 3 At SCG
Cricket Highlights: Watch South Africa vs Australia 3rd Day at Sydney (SCG), 3rd Test of the 2008-2009 series.
Scoreline: SA 327 all out. Mark Boucher 89. Morne Morkel 40. Peter Siddle 5 wickets.
Aus: 33/0. Overall lead 151
The morning session featured engrossing cricket that slowly petered out and then picked up again. Boucher and Morkel pulled South Africa back into the game before a late burst of wickets by Siddle pushed them down again. The South African innings was also marked by bizarre luck – an escaped LBW and TWO occasions when the ball clipped the stumps without dislodging the bails.
There was an interesting moment just before the Aussies came out to bat. Shane Warne can be heard yelling to the South Africans – “give the new ball to Morkel” – the advice wasn’t taken by stand-in captain McKenzie and though Matthew Hayden survived a plumb LBW shout from Dale Steyn in the very first over, Ntini from the other end hardly troubled him during his brief stay.
With the pitch really playing weird on Day 3, Smith out of the test match, and a lead of 151, unless Steyn and Morkel can produce something sensational tomorrow, the Aussies could well make it 2-1.
Australia vs South Africa, 3rd Test Day 4, Live Cricket
Australia lead by 151 runs. Hayden and Katich punch gloves and walk off. They’ve added 33 without loss. Its been Australia’ day. South Africa lost three wickets this morning and then another in the middle session to slump to 5 for 162 before the rearguard from Boucher and Morkel. Then Peter Siddle struck four four times and South Africa finished up on 9 for 327, handing Australia a 118-run lead. Siddle was the man for Australia, taking his first five-for in Tests.

Australia vs South Africa, 3rd Test Day 3, Live Cricket
Clarke, Johnson and Hauritz helped Aussies reach a total of 445 which seemed difficult at end of Day 1. Proteas played carefully and in a good position to reach big score. South Africa need atleast one big innings from Kallis/Amla to be in good position at end of Day 3.

Australia vs South Africa 3rd SCG Test Highlights Day 2 Cricket
Watch Cricket Highlights: South Africa vs Australia 2nd Day, 3rd Sydney (SCG) Test.
Scoreline: Australia 445 all out. Michael Clarke 138. Mitchell Johnson 64.
SA 125/1. Jacques Kallis 36 no. Graeme Smith 30 retd hurt.
Michael Clarke got rid of his poor record at the SCG, while Mitchell Johnson played a bunch of spectacular shots in a partnership that pushed the Australian 1st innings total way beyond expectations. Two dropped catches (Clarke on Day 1 and Johnson today) by SA probably defined the eventual Aussie total. It also helped that the Australian tail unleashed a mighty shake through Hauritz (41) and Siddle (23).
Graeme Smith who looked sublime in comparison to Neil McKenzie at his worst today had to retire hurt after having his little finger jarred by a rising Mitchell Johnson delivery. With the pitch doing weird things on Day 2 and the Aussie 1st innings total, they probably should back themselves going into Day 4 and 5.
Smith who is already struggling with a bad elbow that will see him miss the ODI series could well miss the 2nd innings, judging from the heavy strapping on his finger en route to the hospital.
Kallis came out and pushed the momentum big time – I’ve never been fond of Kallis, but this series has been something else for him in his approach and intent.
There was a strange moment on a cricket field, when police invaded the ground following a weird looking chap attempting we-don’t-know-what-as-yet. And that was that on Day 2 at Sydney.
Australia vs South Africa, 3rd Test Day 2, Live Cricket
Aussies are 445 allout and South Africa where 20/0. Awesome batting by Clarke who made 138, Jhonson who made 64.
South Africa need to bat well and also should maintain the run rate to win the match and aim for a whitewash.

Mobile Series, Australia vs South Africa, 3rd Test Day 1, Live Cricket
We wish you a very Happy and Prosperous new year and many thanks for your support last year and we hope to continue our services this year as well.
It’s very rare we get to see Aussies down 0-2 in a test series and that has called for some changes. Australia will be playing today with a relatively inexperienced side. Graeme Smith will not be playing the ODI series due to elbow injury but we will see him during this match.
It was an interesting series so far and both matches South Africa fought back from a difficult position to win the series.

Australia vs South Africa, 2nd Test Day 5, Live Cricket
Considering Australia poor performance with ball lately, it should be an easy task for South Africa to chase 153 runs with all 10 wickets still in hand. I don’t even remember when was the last time they lost the series at home and South Africa will be happy to finally beat Aussies in Australia after a long time.
The hero for South Africa was Steyn, who took ten wickets for the Test to be the favourite for the Man-of-the-Match award. Ponting fell agonisingly short of a century today, as Steyn bowled South Africa into a dominant position. Australia were bowled out not too long ago for 247, with a lead of just 182, and with a little over a day to play South Africa scored 30 for 0 by stumps. Ponting was out for 99 – caught at short cover – midway through the final session, reward for some smart captaincy from Smith and enthused pace bowling from Morkel. Johnson helped boost the total with a solid innings of 43 not out but there was little else from the order.
