New Zealand have suffered another injury blow; Daryl Tuffey broke a bone in the back of his hand while fielding and will return to New Zealand for surgery. Ian Butler, recovering from an intestinal infection but available for selection, is will take his place. With Ryder ruled out, New Zealand will need a new opener.

This match is a do-or-die situation for New Zealand. If they win this match both England and New Zealand goes into Semi Final. If New Zealand lose this match then the NRR comes in. If New Zealand lose the match in big margin then Sri Lanka will go into semi final.
