Muttiah Muralitharan Breaks Akram’s World Record Video

Watch Muttiah Muralitharan become the highest wicket-taker in ODI cricket, breaking Wasim Akram’s world record of 502 wickets when he snapped up Gautham Gambhir in the 4th ODI SL vs India. The video includes a post-innings interview with Murali.

One of the most chilled out cricketers, everything that needs to be said about him can be found more eloquently in his stats here.

Just would like to add one thing that probably sums up the way Murali has played his cricket. A few years back, when Harbhajan Singh was having trouble in a test series vs Sri Lanka, Murali broke down certain aspects of offspin bowling for him, the day before SL were coming out to bat. As things panned out, Harbhajan ended up taking a pile of wickets. Cricketers help each other out, no doubt, but I wonder how many do it in the middle of a test match.
