Australia vs South Africa, 2nd Test Day 5, Live Cricket

December 30th, 2008 Posted in Live Matches, Test Match

Considering Australia poor performance with ball lately, it should be an easy task for South Africa to chase 153 runs with all 10 wickets still in hand. I don’t even remember when was the last time they lost the series at home and South Africa will be happy to finally beat Aussies in Australia after a long time.

The hero for South Africa was Steyn, who took ten wickets for the Test to be the favourite for the Man-of-the-Match award. Ponting fell agonisingly short of a century today, as Steyn bowled South Africa into a dominant position. Australia were bowled out not too long ago for 247, with a lead of just 182, and with a little over a day to play South Africa scored 30 for 0 by stumps. Ponting was out for 99 – caught at short cover – midway through the final session, reward for some smart captaincy from Smith and enthused pace bowling from Morkel. Johnson helped boost the total with a solid innings of 43 not out but there was little else from the order. (OOX Player) (TVU) (SPVOD) – Supersports (Ustream)
