Nov 13, 2008, Thu (ICL Ist Final) Lahore Badshahs beat Hyderabad Heroes in a day and night encounter on Thursday at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad to win the first finals of ICL 20-20 Indian Championship, 2008/09.

Imran Farhat put Badshahs on the path to victory with a brilliant knock of 65 runs off 39 balls with five fours and five sixes.
Put in to bat, Heroes openers James Maher (45) and Ibrahim Khaleel (25) gave their team a reasonable start as they put on 49 runs for the first wicket before the latter was tapped plumb by Naved-ul-Hasan.

Maher then gave company to Abdul Razzaq, who put on 79 runs for the second wicket.
Razzaq played a brilliant knock of 69 off 46 balls which comprised six fours and three sixes.

However, Heroes, who it seemed would score beyond 200, ended their innings at 170 for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
The credit of restricting the score went to Naved, who took three wickets conceding 25 runs off four overs, and Mohammad Sami with figures of none for 27 off four overs.

Naved also effected a run-out.
Imran Nazir (26) started with a bang but lofted one off Raazaq’s bowling to Justin Kemp in the deep.
His knock contained three fours and two sixes and came off just 10 balls.
Next batsman Naved (18) also got out trying to step up the run rate when the Badshahs score was 82.
Farhat then started scoring briskly and punished all the bowlers in the bargain.
He was caught by Inder Shekar Reddy off Anirudh Singh.
Heroes skipper Chris Harris took the vital wicket of his Badshahs counterpart Inzamam-ul-Haq (5) when he had him bowled.
Boje was the most successful bowler for Heroes with figures of one for 20 off four overs.
Farhat was adjudged man of the match.
