Australia vs New Zealand, 2nd Test, Day 1, Adelaide, November 28 2008, Final Scorecard

November 28th, 2008 Comments Off on Australia vs New Zealand, 2nd Test, Day 1, Adelaide, November 28 2008, Final Scorecard Posted in Scorecard, Test Match

McCullum and Vettori have put on a decent partnership in the last hour but New Zealand will know that this is a below-par score on a good batting pitch. The top four threw away their wickets after getting starts while Flynn was cleaned up by a beauty. Hauritz impressed on his comeback to international cricket, picking up two wickets after being smashed around earlier on. He later picked up an ankle injury and has not taken the field since. Vettori and McCullum will need to put up a big stand with not much batting to follow afterwards.

So NZ round off the day with a steady partnership of 34. Both are naturally aggressive players but have tempered their game to suit the situation. New Zealand probably haven’t done full justice to this pitch today by ending six wickets down. Save for Daniel Flynn, the rest gave their wickets away by trying to go over the top. Credit to the Australian bowlers for bowling well within themselves after a difficult first session and the fielders backed them up well too.

Bangladesh vs South Africa, 2nd Test, Day 3, Live cricket streaming

November 28th, 2008 Comments Off on Bangladesh vs South Africa, 2nd Test, Day 3, Live cricket streaming Posted in Live Matches, Test Match

Bangladesh started off very well on Day 2 with bowl but Boucher and Prince kept them at bay to keep SA on top at the end of Day 2.

With the total they have on scorecard, it’s very hard for Bangladesh to make a comeback here in this game now.

Zimbabwe had a real chance and for a moment I thought they are going to win the match but that last couple of overs turned the match around for Sri Lanka.

Well that’s more like T20 so Zimbabwe had a chance but with full 50 over match, I don’t see any chance for them

ICL world series called off due to Mumbai Blast

November 27th, 2008 Comments Off on ICL world series called off due to Mumbai Blast Posted in 20-20, Cricket News, ICL, Twenty 20
The terror attacks in Mumbai have forced the cancellation of the ongoing ICL world series in Ahmedabad, a senior official confirmed. ICL representatives met Gujarat government officials over the future of the tournament following Wednesday’s terror strikes in Mumbai, and later decided to call off the event.

"We have decided to cancel the World Series in the best interests of all involved, particularly the teams," Kiran More, an executive board member of the ICL, told Cricinfo. "The executive board decided that it was not appropriate to continue. We were ready with the extra security but felt the atmosphere, in the wake of the Mumbai events, was just not right to go ahead with the matches."

More stressed that all players and officials had been given adequate security while the chairman of the ICL’s executive board, Kapil Dev, said: "The teams have shown confidence in the ICL management and have supported the decision to call off the tour."

The ICL had on Thursday morning decided to call off the evening’s match between Pakistan and Bangladesh teams in Ahmedabad. The world series, involving India XI, Pakistan XI, Bangladesh XI and World XI, was scheduled to end on Saturday.

South Africa vs Bangladesh, 2nd Test Day 2, Live Cricket Streaming

I think Bangladesh did a decent job to reach 250 on a green top and pick an early wicket at the end of the Day 1 but we have wait and see if that is good enough.

If they can pick up couple of wickets early, then it’s possible for Bangladesh to give a good fight

5th ODI: India v England at Cuttack, Nov 26 2008, Final Scorecard

November 26th, 2008 Comments Off on 5th ODI: India v England at Cuttack, Nov 26 2008, Final Scorecard Posted in Hero Honda Cup, One Day Match, Scorecard

A superb performance from the Indian batsmen. There was some uneven bounce on the pitch and there was a tricky period when three wickets went down in quick succession but Dhoni and Raina made sure the good work of the openers wasn’t wasted

England will be gutted after their batsmen, led by captain Kevin Pietersen, put up a competitive total, certainly not one that should have been overhauled with more than six overs to spare

Kevin Pietersen: "I thought 270 was very competitive. I can see now why Dhoni chose to bat, it was a bit of a nightmare dealing with the dew in the evening"

Mahendra Singh Dhoni: "The spinners did the job after a not-too-great start from the new-ball bowlers. Zaheer and Ishant did a superb job in the third Powerplay, with two batsmen set."

And the Man of the Match is Virender Sehwag.
